I have noticed that another person (in this case, my beloved wife) will interfere with my ability to play good chess, even with the most perfunctory and innocuous, yes, even necessary inquiries.
How does one say to dear and beloved - stfu?
It happens to everyone. Try to find a time when she is not there or sleeping, or simply tell her to let you concentrate for 30 min, as if you were away so you can play in peace.
That seems like good advice. Communication is an integral part of a relationship and both parts need to work together. :)
Failing that, some chloroform and a hankerchief might do the trick!
Not Othello again.
Now that it's been mentioned... that is great advice. ;) Thanks Honest Iago.
