Has anyone here underestimated their opponent and what happened as a result? And why did you underestimate him or her? Was it their rating, age, country?
My story: I was playing with an old account, my rating at the time was around 1800, and the opponent’s rating was about 1460. For some reason my mind became very relaxed. I was actually finding it difficult at mid-game.. Thankfully my opponent made a blunder and I got the game. Since then, I always have played the best moves I can think of against any opponent.
