28 points for winning a rated game on similar ratings?

Hi there,

Has anyone experienced this before? Was this a bug ? a mistake , an error in the system? I lost to player with a similar rating than mine, and it wasn't a provisional rating< and they were given 28 points for the victory.

I have just noticed this too. Youssef_Saghir seems to be the player that has that odd rating loss/win. In this other link he loses to a player rated very similarly to them and loses 23 points!!!! Why is that? is this a bug in the system? Do you think we need to contact someone so they can fix it?

The more provisional a player's rating is the larger the change for a win/loss... Gets new players to their correct level nice and quickly!

@hampy is 92 games not a good number of games to have a solid rating? there is no question mark next to the rating and the player has payed almost 100 games. It all sound a bit weird to me. However you surely know about this better.

Actually, it's not about how many games you play. It's about who you play. If you keep playing someone that is much lower or higher than you you will always stay provisional.
