I guess Punkrock: Anti-Flag or NOFX if you also like more Punk and less Rock i would say: Black Flag, Minor Threat are some good bands, but there is a lot to explore, those are just some well-known bands.
Oh and once I was reading about so-called proto-punk I cam across this song.

I agree. I can easily call Faith No More punk, Limp Bizkit, Red Hot Chili Peppers and, as I have done before, at great peril I might add, Avril Lavigne.
