Berserk is for cave men, but I do not see why it would make cheating easier.

I don't think eliminating the option of berserk in tournaments is a good idea. It increases the liveliness in the game, challenging to beat your opponent with half the time.
Even if somebody dislikes the berserk option I don't see why it should be removed since they could simply restrain themselves from using it and even if the opponent uses berserk, it shouldn't change your game play in any way.

The main issue with berserk is that it distort rating, as no elo offset is applied for rating computation yet berserking brings more losses.

But removing it wouldn't help against cheaters...

No ! Berserk is good ! Stronger players play in bullet, weaker in classical. If you eliminate Berserk, a lot of good players will not play classical any more because it is too slow !
I know it ! I don't play bullet, but i berseck in classical. I think it's the same for the most players. if you eliminate Berseck, bullet players play in 1 mn, other players in 3, in 5, in 10, in 30 mn, etc... and never play each other

That's the reason, i think, why berseck is good !

I give you an example and I play in a sub-1500 tournament and a guy who has 2000 enters with a false account and gives bersek throughout the tournament ends up winning easier because he plays more games and double points gain

I mean like wouldn't his rating go up very quickly? After the tournament his rating's gonna be his true strength right? Then everyone would know his rating and he won't be able to join the next sub-1500 tournament.
