I played a game , in the end we both had 1 bishop each and a king no other pieces

Should have been a draw . right ?

How can u mate with a king and bishop

White king on a8, white bishop on b8.
Black king on a6, black bishop on c6.
(and vice versa, White can mate Black in one of the dark squared corners)

you can block the king with your king, and bishop on the side.

When u would flag. There is a fide rule that if white plays absolutely stupidly then he can actually selfmate himself. For example Bg1 Kh1 Kh3 Bf3 mate. So that is why it will count as a win for black.

It is a draw, theoretically. However if either side cooperates, they can achieve checkmate.
