Casual chess and coaching

Hi

If I wanted to help a beginner, is it permitted to play a casual (unrated) correspondence game and use the chat function to give them tips on what to look for and what pieces they should look to develop etc? I am not wanting to sandbag (i.e. would play these games unrated) nor inflate someone elses's rating. I just want to help a beginner learn to play. But I don't want to fall foul of the rules of the site if I am seen to be assisting an opponent etc

Casual/unrated games are, as far as I can tell, the wild west. You shouldn't even be able to be banned for obvious cheating like engine usage.
