Lichess has been copied!!!

With such few players, I'm of the mindset you're a part of it and advertising for it.
It is funny how many chess players have that attitude.

Can you imagine going to an in-person chess club, and having people tell you it isn't allowed to talk about other chess clubs in town??!?

You could ban people who do it, but it may inadvertently popularize the other club.
@Aighearach

What's your point?

Outright advertisement for another club is not very polite in real world chess clubs, too.

On the other hand, Lichess actually is very tolerant about talk about other chess websites (unlike some of these sites, where a thread like this would be long gone already).
Who cares? Lichess isn't proprietary. Anyone can use the code to create whatever they want.
@gbtami Naw, I'm not really interested in unexplained links.

There is a big difference between advertising and discussion. They're not that hard to tell apart.

@ProfDrHack

The very purpose of open source software is to be able to copy it. What an insult to the authors to suggest that it isn't polite to do with it what they licensed it so that people could do, or to admit that people consider it worth their time to copy it. In fact, people copying it and then talking about it is most of the benefit a programmer gets from writing open source software.
