How do I see how many total players there are in blitz, standard, bullet, etc?
nevermind I just had to search a really low rated player to get an estimate. I assume these rankings don't take into account players who are not active. Cause I know there is way more then 15,000 blitz players.
Yep, it's only for active players. I think it's defined as people who've played a rated game in that category in the last 2 weeks. It should probably be elaborated on in a tooltip on the page.

It seems wrong though. I am rated 2097 and placed 400th or so, while Kierkegaard is rated 2100 and placed 200th or so. Surely there aren't that many players with ratings in the 2097-2100 range?
Perhaps it is only updated at a certain time each day.

#6 there probably are. This site has something like 30,000-50,000 active users (guesstimate!) and probably hundreds of thousands of more sporadic users (though accounts are not the best of metrics as some people have alt accounts). A couple of hundred is a drop in the bucket.
#7 actually I've been looking around and a lot of the rankings don't really make sense.
