technology is really something. right?

think about this. today, you can just tap on a couple of buttons or a screen and then come in contact with someone on the other side of the earth. technology right?. of course now days pretty much everyone takes this for granted or just dont realise that it has not always existed. alpha zero. iphones and androids. tv. ps5. automatic washing machines. lichess. i mean WOW. the world has evolved in terms of technology. its amazing? "yes". some would say. "no" others would say. "yes they make life so much easier". "no they make people so lazy dependant and addicted". "well its irrelevant. terminator 2 scenario is happening. skynet is taking over the world. we will all be gone soon" rather technology evolving is good for the world or not is debatable. but one thing thats NOT debatable, is that people take it all for granted. and i think in a way. thats insulting to the people who worked so, so, SO hard on making all of this a reality. how to fix this? my idea is to have a day, once in a while, with NO such things as "washing machines" or "phones" or anything like that. not having it for just one day would make people appreciate it a lot more. and maybe not take it so much for granted?. "you dont realise what you have until its gone". what do you think?
This reminds me of the time when the power went out at the office and one of my coworkers asked if she would still be able to go to the washroom. Alright - come with me, we're going to open up the toilet and I'll show you how it works, lol...
Just wait for the next powerful coronal mass ejection the sun throws towards earth (like this one: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrington_Event):

Pros:
Aurora Borealis/Australis all over earth, because the solar storm literally squeezes the hell out of earth's magnetosphere. ("Auroras were seen around the world, those in the northern hemisphere as far south as the Caribbean; those over the Rocky Mountains in the U.S. were so bright that the glow woke gold miners, who began preparing breakfast because they thought it was morning. People in the northeastern United States could read a newspaper by the aurora's light.")

Cons:
"A solar storm of this magnitude occurring today would cause widespread electrical disruptions, blackouts, and damage due to extended outages of the electrical grid." And this is probably the understatement of the century.
