All along the watchtower. Bob Dylan, Hendrix,Frank Marino ( mahogany rush),Elvin Bishop,Dave Matthews,Eric Clapton,U2, Neil Young,Eddie Vedder, Jeff Healey, Affinity,Bobby Womack,Pearl Jam,Jamie Commons,Dead Company,XCT, and even more have covered the song.Heck,even I play that one.

Nina Simone (1966 - the first recording by Hope Foye google only found to buy on vinyl, anyways this seems like perfection and IMO beats the Jeff Buckley Version, which is amazing regardless) :

@Caballode3cabezas Elvis Presley barely performed any original songs, "Always on my mind" is no exception, there have been 2 or 3 releases before him. Its ofc the most iconic and sucessful performance.

I was trying to thing of her name because she recorded I Put A Spell On You (and many others) and I was just about to wail and bemoan the universe and lo, and behold: there it is. All these events took place in about 5 seconds. he he heh.
