POV: You lost a game to someone who is 1000 rating below you

What do you do? WHat is your mindset? Do you scream in your mind?
I do
This is basically what it's like to play against all my friends - I nearly lost a game a few days ago to a friend I have a 41-0 record against (lol) - he got me down a castle and a minor piece, with checkmate in 1 when his turn was up... the end game was looking very grim - however through an extremely protracted series of sustained checks by my queen - I managed to fork and take out his castle and bishop without breaking the check chain.

Why are you seeking 1000 below your rating?
"I'll just analyse the game afterwards, learn what I may have done better, try to understand why what I did didn't work and also look on the games played before in that position to see how better players dealt with the position it all went wrong for me! Then try to understand why what they played worked.
Don't just blindly copy what the engine would play though because likely you won't be able to follow up with the right moves to make it work later in the game".
