Here’s the problem with that: your taking. Take 100 dollars from a rock mans pocket and one man gets 100 dollars. Take 100 dollars from every rich man and one man gets rich.

Take 100 dollars from the rich man's pocket, and nobody wants to get rich in the first place, thus stymying innovation and making it harder for that poor chap to get his hands on money from rich people.

Hell, Thomas Malthus suggested that we convince all the poor people to stop washing their hands and live in swamps to make sure that fewer people lived in poverty.
