Is it still discrimination or not if it is a choice?

I had a discussion with a person yesterday he said it is not discrimination if it is a choice I said discrimination is discrimination regardless if it is a choice or not.

Here is a hypothetical scenario let say there is 7 Billion people in the world and 4 Billion of those people are religious and let say the government would make mandates all across the world in regard to flying attending large events and accessing certain stores and the mandate is you cannot access these venues or facilities if your not religious.

Question is that discrimination or not? I would say yes it is as you not allowing access due to the fact that some people are not religious I consider that discrimination under the bill or rights under religious grounds the opposing person would say it is not discrimination as people chose either to be religious or not therefore it is not discrimination.

I will give an easier scenario if the above was too confusing let say a kid's favorite color was pink and the kid wanted to go to school in pink shirt pink pants pink shoes pink socks and dye the hair pink and some kids start making fun of the child is that not discrimination? I would say yes it is cause they are discriminating against the Kid biased on what the Kid is wearing and of the Kid' person preference in regard to color. The opposing person would say it is not discrimination as it was the kid's choice to wear Pink shirt Pink Pants Pink Shoes Pink Socks and dye their hair pink.

So in closing is it still discrimination or not if it is a choice?
discrimination - the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people, especially on the grounds of race, age, sex, or disability.

what you say is Religious Discrimination period.

The second Example is just bullying KEKW
Technically, discrimination must involve a choice.

It should also be noted that the term discrimination is not necessarily negative. When you get a coupon, the offering party is discriminating in your favor.
Hello @Chessy64 , the second scenario you gave is more like under the grounds of bullying, as for your main question, (I can't give you an answer but I can direct you to which people you could ask that question to) it really depends on which religion, one is speaking off (there are different customs, laws & traditions in each religion, one or two may be similar/different to another religion that could be under the same/not same belief system too, sometimes misinformation makes people think another fellow is being discriminated), that's why in a question like the one you've given it's better to ask the pastor/priest/cleric/rabbi (or any other proper and authorized religious authorities instead when in doubt).

The fact that you are discriminated because of something you chose (in this case, not being religious) doesn't make it not discrimination.
Actually 1st is inequality
And 2nd is bullying not discrimination as rightly said by @DinoRob
Literally any scenario in which you use any type of information to make a choice involving one or more viable alternatives requires discrimination. If you choose a hot dog over a salad for lunch because you don’t like vegetables, that’s discrimination. If you choose not to eat with the weird kid at school because he’s weird, that’s discrimination.

Hell, the choice to use lichess forums over their chessdotcom counterparts is due to discrimination.

Discrimination isn’t some sort of morally unjust act. It’s the thing which shapes our decision-making process.

True in general, but not every discrimination isn't morally unjust (and it wouldn't be a lie to say it's wrong that I don't like double negations).
Lol. The subject of law. Do you know how many bar-exams I raped? The only thing I could never understand is why they always gave me a D.
