Coronavirus is just the latest reminder that death is inevitable for all of us. Why is it so startling to be reminded of our mortality?



Coronavirus is only fear inducing to a man who is/was in denial of his own mortality. There is no certainty here. A single moment is not guaranteed to any of us.

A good way to assess whether you are living well is the latest threat to your life shocks you, or is instead met with acceptance, which is what should happen if you already acknowledged your situation. You are only a temporary passenger here.

However, none of what Lord Buddha talked about applies if you can be cryogenically frozen or have your mind uploaded. If you're sufficiently young (enough time to experience big leaps in technology) or sufficiently wealthy (to get it early or get frozen), you can do confidently disregard Lord Buddha, meditation and the skillful development of your mind to accept death related outcomes.

I encourage you all to get wealthy or get mindful.
