Google Earth

When I was a kid I used to go to my grandmother's house and she had about 50 years of back issues of National Geographic magazine which used to have a fold out map in every issue. I used to love pouring over those and imagining going to those places. Well the maps have been discontinued but now I have Google Earth which I absolutely love. It's so much fun to see places I've been and places I'd like to go and to see how things have changed over the decades. Of course I looked at street view of my own house and they had captured my wife sitting outside reading a magazine. Pretty cool I thought.
So do you enjoy Google Earth as much as I do?

I love Google Earth, and street view quite a lot.
The main thing I used Google earth for is seeing which areas have the most trees, for air quality etc.

I haven't used it in a while, but I love and appreciate your post. Just for sharing the goodness and joy of this technology.

We tend to forget how amazing it is.

What I sometimes like to do is when I read of a city that I have a rough idea where it is: Go to Google Maps, activate the satellite image, turn off all labels and then try to find it. Then turn on the labels again and check by how much of a distance I got it wrong.

Yes, but i don't use it too much.
I like the perimeter and the area system. Its very smart and also the street view(which my house is still painted in white when its now yellow)
