First car was a '90 Calais. Speedo pegged at 80mph and the needle saw that peg often. Seat didn't recline, power-nothing, zero to sixty in "Eventually," and it doubled in value when I put the stereo system in. But it was literally some little old lady's "only drove it to Church and the Grocery store" vehicle and she let me keep the cabbie beads for the driver seat when I bought it.
The infrequent use was its death. With only 35k miles at thirteen years old when I bought it, everything rubber was dry-rotting. I was replacing gaskets and hoses more and more often up until I sold it. The in-betweens of part replacements, when nothing was busted, it ran like a champ.
It was a tiny version of the "land yachts" (Cutlass Supremes, Buick LeSabres, Towncars, etc) that were a dieing breed by then. A soft, bouncy suspension that laughed at bumps in the road and felt like riding on a mattress. Much simpler to work on, of course at the cost of fuel efficiency and modern comforts or features now taken for granted.
I drive a pickup now, and wouldn't own anything else because I need the utility, but I miss that car.
