Vote to assassinate new red audio icon

> Actually it is : "2021 Apple iPad Pro (11-inch, Wi-Fi, 128GB) - Space Grey (3rd Generation)" - it is IOS 14. I wonder if it is because i disabled most things in settings as I wanted maximum performance from it for bullet chess. Is there something in the Ipad settings which needs to be enabled maybe.

there is a high chance you have muted your safari browser, that is why you see the red icon, no need to assasinate it. Trying turning your ipad volume up, make sure all external devices headphones or bluetooth devices are disconnected, check in safari settings if there is a mute settings, update safari
Comodo Dragon Version 113.0.5672.127 (64-bit) I still cannot see the red speaker feature and still no other sound besides speech sound.

Can't explain why, Can't justify why, and I won't look back: I like the Comodo Dragon so I guess I will have to play lichess without sound. Today I feel asleep in front of my game. So it timed out silently.

I will try the Comodo Ice Dragon ...

When I tried the other version it repaired my 64 version and installed a 32 version ... lol
Comodo Dragon is up to date
Version 113.0.5672.127 (32-bit)
But that's not the Ice version either.
I don't want to uninstall... Looks like I cannot have the Comodo Dragon and the Comodo Ice Dragon installed at the same time.
I'll try the portable versions... :)

It works with the sound still not red speaker but at least the sound works on lichess. So I'm changing browsers again.
I'll give this one a try for a while.

I must have spent maybe 20 minutes or so trying to figure out what that mute button was for. Initially there weren't any forum posts on it either which made it even more confusing.

I dunno if it's like a beta feature or something but it's by far the least intuitive feature on lichess that I know of. That's not to say it doesn't serve a purpose, just that it doesn't make clear why it's there in the first place.
Can somebody name all the browsers that they see the red speaker icon and that it works correctly.
It's meant to alert that your browser won't allow lichess.org to play sounds unless something is clicked first. It's usually possible to fix this in your browser preferences.

In the coming days, clicking the red icon will link to an FAQ entry about autoplay. It was always meant to do this, the faq text just lagged the icon.

It should go away as soon as you interact with the page. If it doesn't, or it appears when sometimes you think it shouldn't - it's probably a bug so post about it here with your browser platform.

Otherwise, try to get used to it. It's not the end of the world. (Though it could be an omen).
Unfortunately, It isn't totally 100% there yet on my Ipad after doing all the possible IOs updates. There were occasions last night where sound was lost. I resolved it by clicking my name top right - and it gets sound back during a game. I can handle this but I thought I should put out there is still sometimes an issue. Overall most of the time sound was back after the Ios updates though.

I wonder if maybe it justifies a user interface option of opting out of the "auto-sensing red sound icon" if you have sound or not - as it actually seems to create sometimes a lack of sound issue, which i don't think was the intention of the new feature. It is acting rather like a new Gremlin in the system at this point.

I did though enjoy my bullet chess overall last night again. For bullet chess in particular I find it very useful to have sound to know if the opponent has moved rather than having to scan the position all the time for changes.
