Too Easy to drop a piece early.

I know I'm old, but one of the reasons I won't play against anything but the computer, is just how easy it is to drop your piece a square early when making a move. Just lost a game that I was basically winning with ease, the guy was in the red on time, and an awful position, when it did the same thing again, allowing a simple pawn pin. At least against the computer you can correct it. My opponent probably thinks he's a genius, or more likely I'm an idiot.
You can move pieces by clicking (or tapping on a touch device) instead of dragging them. Problem solved.
The trick is to not let go of the mouse button until the piece is in the right place. Or treat yourself to a new mouse. Or use a touchscreen. Or use move confirmation.
Mouses start to degrade very quickly, surprisingly quickly even.
Cheap ones do. You use a mouse and keyboard every day. Treat yourself.
Move confirmation is something I do as well. It asks you before every move, whether you really want to make it.
Seems like it should drastically hinder the game, but it doesn't. I speak from experience.

You can find it under settings and game behaviour.
Can you make up an excuse for me for the next time I lose a winning game too?

Or when I'm home late?
