This has been happening multiple times. Lichess matches me with an opponent and the opponent keeps aborting. Example: Danirod keeps aborting my games. Check out my recent match history. Such players should be punished for wasting time.
You can block them.
Never understood why aborts are allowed in the first place, outside of cases where the opponent just doesn't move. It just allows opponent selection, which jacks up the rating system.
I had an opponent that aborted after the first move, than asked for a rematch. Then he continued to abort and ask for a rematch. I did block him, but this behavior was strange.
i once had a guy wo äbörted the game 4 times.

If they abort too many games they will get an automatic timed gameban.
