The prizes to be won in such tournaments could be lessons with our chess teachers. Instead of admiring the old guys I would prefer to see future IMs, GMs and a future world champion battle it out to win lessons here. Soon there will be many IMs and GMs who their took first steps on lichess. Those who are now at the top will soon be history and the future champions are among us. They should get our attention and support.
There could be two kinds of tournaments: one, in which those will play who actually want to take the lessons, and a second kind, in which the winner donates the won lessons back to lichess Magnus style and the next prize tournament would be in his name. If some top guy wants to get his hands on the money, he is welcome to give lessons here to one of our top guys.
