opening title position changed?

Well, I think you only need to go to one of your past games, it will bring up the move explorer, where in the past on top of the move list you would have had the opening, update-able by which move you scroll through, now if like all the other explorer based pages, it should not have it.

I could send you a link to one of mine. I think the post you refer to, was referring to the lack of header space for the module under the engine analysis header. normally there is a space there, I think. but, yes there would be better examples.

The poster could have used one of the presets in the board editor page (some frequent openings are there).

The opening name is the last named position, no matter what moves are played after that position. And that is an important information that should be displayed somewhere. It shouldn't vanish suddenly and at an unpredictable moment, it shouldn't require opening the database tool which takes too much space away.

Lichess did all that right before the regression discussed here.

Other sites (chesscom for example) show that name even during the game (and no, that's not "cheating", we had that debate already).

Note that the opening name has no relation to the games in the database. Showing it in the database explorer makes no sense.
Opening name info is also gone in puzzles(tactics)! Echoes...
#22 I agree: there's a term Principle of Least Astonishment. Apparently my memory is badly flawed since I thought once players went out of book, the name disappeared:

I'm trying to not be dense and to not conflate this with my other observations/preferences about the opening name... thanks for your patience. I still can't get my local instance running, so perhaps another developer can somehow verify that a regression really occurred.

I filed issue github.com/ornicar/lila/issues/6243
