Very often, it shows the message telling me I'm in the game at the top of the screen and I have to click that to join. Sometimes it doesn't even give me that, which of course results in a loss... It seems to happen if I'm, say, hovering over someone's name to see their ratings, or doing something else, but often for no reason whatsoever. y?
