New variant idea - Invisible Chess

cant see opponents pieces, a pieces legal moves are displayed when it is selected but you dont know if you are taking or simply moving (unless its a pawn obviously)

Or you can enable blindfold option at the bottom of lichess.org/account/preferences/game-display

That hides both pieces for only one side. Invisible chess would be a nice challenge.

Have a look at this variant called Kriegspiel. I think this is very similar to what you are suggesting.

You can easily play blindfold if you don't want to see the pieces on the board

aye blindfold chess is not what im describing, you cant see their pieces and you are not told their moves, you can see your pieces and their legal moves when they are highlighted

dark chess looks pretty much exactly what i wanted except you have to capture the king, looks great, and would be great to have here
