Lot of trolls leaving in lost position

Yes @obwohl. The lichess staff/moderators circulate through every post. You must understand that this issue has been posted asked and answered 1000 times. Furthermore, besides the fact that you would have found all your answers in a simple forum search it is also fully explained in the lichess FAQ.

It's a mysterious phenomenon that so many people spend all their time writing posting bouncing back and forth and writing again yet the thought to look in the q&a never occurrs to them.
Simple solution. No escape game option. Even default settings for no escape. You leave you lose points. If lichess is so worried for people with crap connections from timbucktoo they can turn off no escape and be paired with other intermittent disconnecters. The vast majority leave because of a bad position and connect again last second to try and catch you asleep. The few that really have very bad internet can get matched with others...the only players that might actually care to have the ability to come back to a game. I'm sure 95% would enable no escape.
I had a game with username klof. He left the game. And I was left waiting out the clock. I hovered over his username and saw that he was playing another game. How is this possible?

You shouldn't be able to start another game if you just left a game. Or at least you should automatically forfeit the earlier game.
@Nephilus. Great idea. I wish Lichess would give it a try.

Like you, I'm a bit exasperated at how Lichess seems to be placing tremendous emphasis making sure every chess player on Earth with a lousy internet connection is never once inconvenienced while the vast majority of Lichess players, who have reliable internet connections, are forced to endure habitual rage-quitters.
No Escape is by far the best solution to handle the disconnect problem. Disconnecting and coming back is becoming common practice and it is disgusting.. If Lichess adds a No Escape Option as a default setting when creating games it will make the majority of people very happy. The people that have a bad connection can disable no escape and be paired with other people that prefer that. Come on Lichess! If you do this I'll donate!

As a matter of fact ICC Internet Chess Club back when I played there 15 years ago did exactly that. No escape fixed a lot of the problems especially the abusers.
@obwohl : You only have as many as 23 rapid or classic games. How can you even have suffered it? I think leaving the game can't be a problem in blitz or eben bulet games.
And why should Mr Liches answer each of the hundreds of threads of this kind? Of course they work on it. But they also accept that sometimes people lose connection and want to continue the game. You shouldn't shout too loud. You never lose more time than you initially agreed to spend on a game.
I prefer playing blitz. And it is still unsportsmanlike to wait until the time runs out or just completely leaving a game. I'm free to say what annoys me and until lichess is not fixing it, I still feel free to complain about it. And I don't shout. And I don't get the point of your last sentence.
There needs to be a solution though. It's so simple too, just have an option to manually ping a user and see if they reply in 60 seconds. I just waited 18 minutes. This isn't a hard problem to solve!

It would be even simpler than that: who leaves a game without resigning is penalized in his next game by some considerable time reduction. This way a bad connection will not harm you much but a regular leave-instead-resign-type player will be handicapped.

krasnaya
I have had a lot of rage quitters like every one else, but I have also had my router auto update on me and cut my connection. Don't get me wrong I have played stupid moves and then resigned immeadiately, but to be honest I do it because I feel I should not have the chance to turn it around rather than make the opponent work for the win. I think that is the difference between the two types of people. When I lose stupidly I want to punish myself, resigning quickly is the real world action of slapping yourself on the head. Where rage quitters are angry they are angry at you, and they do it to try to make you as upset as they are. I've had rage quitters, quit, wait for the time to reconnect to almost run out connect then quit again so I have to wait for his whole time to run out. So what should we do? Well firstly if someone disconnects in a game I wait until the time time out. Why, because it is important that a loss is recorded against them. And if they want to play silly beggars connect disconnect reconnect then let them. Why ? After you win the game you can move on, where as he will have these stupid and Hart attack inducing feelings for the rest of the day at least. So just console yourself with the fact that you will love longer than them.
