How to resign a game?

I don't find the resign button when playing. Where can I find it?

To the left of the board there is a flag icon, located under the notation and next to a hand icon. This is the resign button.

When I'm hitting this flag, it sends apparently an offer to resign, as it is many times rejected... How does this exactly work?

@ajaan Check your preferences for "Confirm resignation and draw offers" and if it's set to "yes".....you have to confirm them.
