My last Horde game I could not move my piece although I did try and lost on time. I had a lost position so it is not a big deal but this freezing have occurred before and needs to be dealt with.

I guess, you should check your internet connection.
that bug used to happen to me too on my other laptop where my net is working but I can t move any peices , I guess it has something to do with opening too many lichess tabs on .
The board freezes sometimes for me too. The pieces don't work at all but I can still use the chat, and I end up resigning every time. I'm using the app on a recent Samsung tablet and a good Internet connection.
