I've seen a lot of sites with a drop-down "sort-by" menu when displaying a list containing many items. This makes it easier to find a particular item that interests the user.
I think it would be a good idea to implement this type of menu in the team forums (probably not in the general forums, mind you, as they are probably too large for the drop-down to be useful). This way, users could find older content in a team that interests them (such as older games that they might have missed) or threads that have exceeded the 50 reply limit, but still have active conversation.
I would suggest the sort categories include: number of comments, time of first post, date of most recent post, alphabetical.
