Failure to refund points

A player was banned and under the 40 game rule I was entitled to a refund of eight points. My rating is 20 points higher now, but that's because I put in a day of serious effort to win those points. My rightful rating is 2081. Not only did this player cheat me out of 12 points (and I'm being hammered by confirmed cheaters as a top 65 three check player who enjoys long time controls), I am now denied a refund of eight points just because I put in a day of hard effort to raise my rating. Seems like being cheated twice. This is the third time in a row that a cheater has been confirmed and I have received no refund. In my worst week last month I had SIX confirmed cheaters. At least give me back my rating points fairly.

Well although I am not against you being refunded and whatnot and I hope that your issue get resolved I would like to advise you not to stress that much its a game... and lichess rating is like just for you to have a general idea about your performance it doesn't mean anything other than that... I would advise the same for FIDE ratings but ok I can understand that its more involved since its a more official athletic performance, but for lichess its not a biggy just enjoy the game I am sure you are able to recap those lost points eventually anyway :)

I often have to wait an hour to find a rapid 3 check game with a 1750+ opponent and since I mostly win 2 or three points because so few of the top players enjoy rapid three check 8 points is 3-4 hard games, that's assuming I win them all. Hours of your time might not be a "biggie". And since no real-life 3 check ratings exist, my rating on this server is doubly important to me.

It's fair in the sense that it's exactly the same for everyone. Everyone else has a score which is potentially lower than it should be for the same reason. Making an exception for you would be unfair on them, no? I don't think the rating system works if you just add points back naively. There's a cap too I believe. Personally I'd not take the 8 point discrepancy too seriously and just the the game.

Well you could say Nazism was fair because it was exactly the same for all Germans :) The feedback forum exists to suggest improvements for everyone. "I don't think the rating system works if you just add points back naively." Well that's what the point refund system does. And since it exists, I have been cheated twice, I don't see how you could see it otherwise.

how about you post the evidence @Aceno0b ? post the games that they cheated in against you, after all everyone on lichess knows u tend to falsely accuse people when you lose.

Maybe there could be an imaginary bonus set of points which can be added to the actual rating, so in cases like this the victim can ask for 12 imaginary points to be added to the bonus pool which will be added to the actual rating before being displayed on the victim's screen (but nobody else's, obviously)?

Everyone is so mean and lacking sympathy. People are really suffering real emotional pain with this corona influx and the resulting decline in ratings. I've never seen the three check pool anything like this savage in four years, and it was always pretty savage. Look at all the people losing 15-59 points in their last 12 games in the three check top 200. Twelve guys over 15 points, twelve over 20, eight over 30, 2 over 40, 2 over 50! That kind of thing is just unprecedented. I don't remember seeing anyone lose 30 points in twelve games before.
