Doubt regarding notifications

If i @(ping) a user three times in a single post - do they get notifed 3 times or just once?

I think they get notified for each post in which you @ping them

If they ping you three times in a single post, you will receive one notification.
Even if you get pinged by two different people in the same forum, you will still receive one notification.
