I can't connect to lichess in Hong Kong. Lichess.org returns server not found... This isn't an isolated issue either. My friend has the same problem, I have tried both mobile data and wifi. The only reason I'm able to connect now is by using a VPN in France. You can duplicate my issue by using a Hong Kong VPN on ProtonVPN and try to connect to lichess. The issue is really frustrating, I'm stuck with playing on chess.com and it works with no problems, can this issue be solved??
By "server not found" you mean that DNS resolution of name lichess.org doesn't result in an IP address?
Yes, it doesn't, and app says 'cannot fetch from lichess.org'. Again, when I turn on VPN such as for France or even Singapore I can connect fine as I am doing now to access this forum. Multiple ISPs in the region and mobile networks have been tested. Again I am in Hong Kong, you can replicate the issue by trying connect to lichess.org through a Hong Kong VPN such as by using ProtonVPN. please help.
I had the same problem for four days now when using a DNS server from Singapore and Japan. Could not connect with lichess.org at all. Resolved the issue by changing the location of my DNS server.
Same here,also four days before I can't connect to lichess on PC or mobile,with specific IP.
I emailed lichess,but they response they have do nothing to my IP.Excluding IP blocking,I don't know what's the issue.
There may be more of users affected,since they can't access lichess,which means they can't even get in here.Only few of users may try VPN or having other ways to get in here.
