Bad ping specifically on lichess, and lichess alone

Here's some test results for the internet connection I use: www.speedtest.net/result/15991529190.png
Fairly good stats all around, pretty good ping and a fast connection.

However on lichess, I'm just constantly getting 600-1000 ms on every game I play(Bullets mostly).
I am really unsure if this is a problem with my internet, since the tests I run online tell me I'm fine.

I use Google DNS, my PC is located in India, and I understand the requests go to the server in France.
At this point I'm just not sure how to troubleshoot further, what needs improvement here, given that my Internet connection according to the tests online is fine already so it's not much I've got to even talk to my ISP about ?

Also ran a speed test that connects me to a server in France - www.speedtest.net/result/15991545034
Ping is sub 100.
Lichess gives me 400.

@hot9cups People in india always seem to have bad connection with lichess. Why idk try:
lichess.org/account/network
that might help or changing your dns

also note just because server a(lichess) and b are in france does not mean you take exactly the same path which could cause problems. If you want to see the path your connection takes to lichess and where the problem is download winmtr and put in lichess.org

The first one if a high loss rate that is not 100% and/or alot higher ping than the rest is the problem

Reliance Jio has trouble routing to lichess, maybe other providers in your region as well. You should try the CDN routing option linked above.

I'm trying CDN routing now, will get back with an update shortly.

I am also from India i don't face much problems though and even i am a jio user too but I noticed one thing if I have used up a lot of data before in Instagram reels or YouTube then sometimes it makes problem other than that everything is fine

No improvement after using CDN routing(possibly worse but not sure how to measure this out objectively).

This is annoying, is the only solution to give up playing on lichess and move over to chess.com/?

@hot9cups best measurement is to use lichess.org/lag
but thats not much data.

Now we going to try a different idea:

can you change your dns to see if that works

else download winmtr
type in lichess.org

then post the results here

I used jio for a long time and didnt face issues but only, recently faced an issue (from like a month) of high ping though mine is only around 250-350 (it used to around 140), tried CDN also no use unfortunately

Assuming you can't fix the lichess issue, you should play wherever you get the best experience.
