how come nobody chats after games?!

more times than not when the game is finished, i leave a little comment like 'strange game', 'good win' or 'nice attack on kingside' and NOBODY ever responds!

rarely is anybody online after the game, the dot going from green to white. it's like the NANOSECOND the game is over, my opponent exits browser window.

Am I out of touch? Or is the children who are wrong?

They don’t talk to you but they talk to everyone else.
Chatting after a game? It's the same dilemma as chatting after "having a good time with someone". Some prefer to sleep or to smoke.

Just bear with that.
You don't know what kind of response you'd get anyway, best to move on once the game is finished
most are not here to evolve or discuss ideas, but have a good time between breaks or have a bit of fun. maybe joining a club and share your games may provoke the comments and ideas exchange. correspondence games let it happen too, because last several days and is usual to chat a bit...
I'd settle for players resigning from a game instead of letting time run out before disappearing, never mind hanging about for a chat.
I agree with you, but, i think people are in too much of a rush these days.
