Please help me with the endgame

I lost all my advantage by exchanging the queens. That was because I thought the endgame would be favourable for me, while it wasn't. It seems that I don't really understand the endgame. It is the second game I lost in the endgame. General advice is appreciated. I didn't even hold the draw, but got worse and finally even lost. I had no good plan in the endgame. That is why I ask you what could my plans have been in this endgame? How should I have played it better? How could I have saved a draw? Please comment! <3

This is a duplicate thread. The same in the general discussion forum.
@tpr no it is not, in this thread I only wanted to talk about this specific game. In the general discussion forum I wanted advice on closed endgame positions in general, showing the game only as example for what I mean by "closed endgame position". I did this intentionally to get different answers, which unfortunately doesn't always work out.
Interesting question... I would recommend investing in an endgame book. I have a few good ones.
In that case, I would recommend reviewing more games, that always helps endgames. Top Games are best!
@LiamPutnam2008 which ones exactly? There are a ton of master games. How to find those that include rooks and many pawns and understand why they played those moves? Most of the times only middlegame moves are commented online, not the endgame moves.
Always watch out for check-mates!

and always try to weaken the pawn-structure(pawns connected are good)not make it even stronger(queen-trade...)
