About me
Playing experience
For many years, I played for my hometown club in Kraljevo. As I became a much stronger chess player, I started competing professionally for other clubs. About twenty years ago, I began playing correspondence chess and discovered the deep beauty of that discipline. Alongside playing, I also began to study all aspects of the game more seriously—openings, middlegames, and endgames—which has led me to some of the most valuable insights in chess training.
Teaching experience
As a chess teacher more than 20 years ago, I started by offering short training sessions for children, as well as organizing tournaments for them. I always wanted every child to be able to share their thoughts about their games, so I could see how well they played in the tournament. Of course, there’s always room for improvement!
Other experiences
As an international arbiter, I have officiated many of my own tournaments, as well as national championships in Serbia. I always strive to help both children and adults discover something beautiful in the world of chess. That’s why I started a Facebook group called ‘Chess in the Balkans’, where we discuss chess and share interesting puzzles that can be great learning tools.

Teaching methodology
I adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s level and personality, focusing on clear explanations and practical exercises. My method combines structured theoretical lessons with interactive analysis of real games, helping students think independently and develop their own style. I emphasize understanding over memorization—especially in openings—and help students improve their strategic thinking and endgame technique. I encourage open discussion about students’ games, guiding them to evaluate their decisions and learn from every experience. Using modern tools like ChessBase and engines, I teach students how to analyze deeply and prepare effectively for tournaments.
