Tijana is a fantastic teacher. She prepares thoroughly for the lessons, provides instruction that balances review of past games with key themes, strategies, etc., to work on. She provides follow-up via a lichess study for each lesson and is always happy to answer any quick questions. As a passionate amateur, I've seen great improvements (1530>1730 in six months) and a greater appreciation for the game. She is fantastic!

So what to do ? Then I discovered Tijana Blagojevic and a different way to learn : playing two rapid games then analysing. At this Art She is very very good ! She beats You and explains why ! I really enjoyed my two first meetings and there will be others for sure ! In bonus She gives you a bunch of material to study, according to what you need. So I contact Her if you really want to progress, learn and become better at Chess with this form of training. She is very cool too ! Highly recommended !
WIM Tijana Blagojevic is an amazing coach! I highly recommend her!
There are so many positive things to say that I do not know where to start.
1. She was very prepared. She definitely put in the time to analyze my games and find out where I need improvement.
2. She was engaging. There were not any moments where I felt lost or left behind. She always asked if I had any questions after each of her chapters. She respectfully considered all answers to her questions but did not allow errors to go unexplained.
3. Knowledgeable. Tijana definitely knows her stuff. Her explanations were clear, concise, and thorough.
4. Personable. I felt like I could be myself. I have learned from coaches before that made each lesson uncomfortable which made it more difficult to learn and needless to say took some fun out of it. I could tell that Tijana genuinely cares about the success of her students.
5. Tech savvy. Her degree in the information systems field definitely shows. She created a well-laid-out lesson for me that was easy to follow on
lichess.org. She was aware of a delay with
chess.com, which is why we went to
lichess.org, needless to say.
I will definitely be taking lessons from her again.

Tijana is a truly excellent chess coach! For a long time I was considering trying out a coach but was always hesitant to do so because I feel most coaches just teach what they already know and disregard your personal playing style. After having my first lesson with Tijana, I can not believe how perfectly she pinpointed and assessed my playstyle, strenghts, weaknesses, etc.. and helped form a repertoire for me. On top of that the lesson was very organized and an abundance of material was shared for me to work through. To be assessed honestly is a rare thing to come by nowadays. 10/10 experience and I highly recommend Tijana to anyway that wants to improve on theory and positional understanding.
I can really recommend taking a chess lesson with Tijana. Based on analysis of my games she identified common strategic mistakes I make and suggested changes in my opening repertoire to better fit my playing style and rating level. She is very knowledgeable but also a friendly and nice person.

I have been reading chess books for the past 6 months which were helpful, but what I gained with WIM Tijana in just one hour was way more than what chess books taught me in 6 months. I highly recommend having a coach if you want to advance your chess skills and I DEFINITELY recommend WIM Tijana even if it was just my first lesson, and cant wait for more lessons to come. Having a chess professional go over your games and put in the work to analyze them before hand was truly appreciated.

I've only had a couple of lessons with Tijana as of now, but from my experience so far I can say that Tijana is an excellent pedagogue! She puts in the time to review some of your games before the lesson if you wish and goes over some of the main ideas with you. She's very welcoming of questions and her explanations are very understandable and general so you feel like you can apply them to future games. She's also friendly and creates an environment conducive to learning and improving. And of course, she has a vast knowledge of all areas of chess and has helped me with a wide variety of preparation.

I've worked with Tijana more than 2 years now and can honestly say she is one of the best chess teachers I've ever encountered. Analyzes your games and gives you recommendations based on the analysis, shows interesting puzzles and exercises and explains them brilliantly and overall is a great person with a sense of humour. Get a lesson from her and you will not regret it.
I've been working with Tijana for about a month now. It helps a lot beyond using computer analysis and youtube videos because Tijana can provide good context for why moves make sense.
Tijana also prepares very well for each lesson. I send along some games in advance and she puts them in Lichess ready with some commentary for when we have a lesson.
I definitely recommend lessons with Tijana as a way to get better at chess more quickly.

I started having group classes with Tijana (using her site) and I found them really useful. Even if they are group lessons, they are enough individualized; she answers the students questions, checking if they well understood her explenations, promoting an active learning. I think that's really useful and stimulating to learn chess with other people in a group lesson.
She also gives all the material treated during the lesson plus additional one (so you can review the topics) and, most important, she is available for any doubt after the lessons in a kind and professional way.
Tijana has been working with my newly 8 year old for a couple months. She is prepared for lessons and provides summaries of what they learned along with homework that can be completed independently. As a teacher myself, I am so impressed with how quickly he has picked up the strategy of the game and looks forward to doing his homework!
As a beginner with minimal knowledge of the game, she met him at his level during the first session and his confidence has continued to increase ever since. She is great to work with when it comes to scheduling and even made it work where he can do lessons prior to going to school some mornings. I cannot wait to see how far she can take him in the game.

I started with a training game and two lessons before purchasing a package. My plan is to be ready for the hopeful resuming of fall USCF tournaments. Needed lessons as my USCF tournament results are not on par with blitz and puzzle ratings. Last year has been stagnant in my chess growth as well.
Lessons are customized and we start with analyzing previous games. Depending on the game there will be opening, middlegame, and/or endings concepts covered. We have a study of student questions that are answered during the lesson as well. Adhoc questions that come up during the lesson are handled too.
WIM mlatb's repertoire philosophy for a student at my level is to balance time with the problems you can set for your opponent. It's an active repertoire that isn't afraid of lines like From's gambit against 1.f4 and accepting the Morra gambit. Playing the c3/Alapin against the Sicilian is great at my level as it allows a small edge and more importantly frees up time to learn other skills. It's great to be playing 1.e4 again.
I just started taking lessons with Tijana - even in the first lesson, she analyzed my games, pinpointed my biggest weaknesses, and showed me tips that immediately benefitted my game. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a coach!

Tijana came to our lesson well prepared, with games from my playing history that she had clearly already looked over, with key moments and regular patterns that were missing in my game clearly recognisable. She was able to concisely articulate to me the reasons I was facing these problems and how I can adapt my thinking to face them in real games. There was also teaching of the scenarios I could face in similar ways to ensure I was understanding the concept and could tackle it independently after some instruction.
The main part however is that the lesson with Tijana was engaging and enjoyable. She was patient with my beginner mindset and as frustrating as it must be to see it so easily for her there was no indication of that. I had a lot of fun and would 100% recommend Tijana not just because of her preparation but of her well established pedagogy that has clearly good effects on her students.

Go for it. Tijana's a great teacher. She finds a few themes that need work and examples from your games, professional games to match, and makes it easy to digest. She clearly put in work to prepare. She's also great about picking the low hanging fruit. Sometimes I come away with several simple tools, sometimes we go deep into one complicated one. The studies she provides after the fact are great references so you don't feel like you need to be cramming notes. Clear and logical instruction. She's professional and efficient in the way she manages the lesson time and her prices are reasonable.
The fact that Tijana is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of chess is what makes her a great coach. She is patient , kind and can show great empathy in her teaching methodology. She analyzes your games in preparation for lessons and prepares material based on the themes inspired by weaknesses shown in those games. She typically points out the key moments where these themes appear in each of my games, reviews a famous game or two emphasizing the same concept, then may follow up with puzzles that highlight the same thing. This tailored and multi-fasceted approach has been great for me. Even though we spend our time working on my weaknesses, she still finds a way to recognize my improvement and support me with encouragement. Highly recommended.
With great respect, I bow deeply to my Master Tijana Blagojevic. A true warrior with chess pumping through her veins. Her mother is a Master, her father is a Grandmaster and Master Tijana is the heir apparent to her family's throne. Within the first week of her teachings, she lifted my chess rating by 100 points and we are just getting started. Tijana is encouraging and positive in how she approaches each lesson. You can tell that she wants me to do well. And that she has a great love of the game of chess. These qualities come through in every lesson. That is why I have taken many lessons from her.
For my first lesson, I told Tijana that I wanted help with how to attack. She prepared a detailed lesson. We went through various ways of attacking a castled king by focusing on the various focal points in the enemy's castled position. She gave me a pgn file with all the examples we had used during the lesson and many more examples. She also provided the same examples in Chessbase format when I asked for it.
For the second lesson, we reviewed some games I had recently played under slow time controls on
chess.com and
lichess.org. Tijana analyzed the games on her own time to prepare for the lesson. As we went through the games, Tijana would point out the various mistakes that my opponent and I had made during the game. She also suggested alternative strategies that I could have used during the game to give me more ideas on how to play next time. I discussed my various thoughts I had during the games and she provided feedback on how to think about the position. Tijana also points out the critical times during the game when a decisive move was either made or missed.
Tijana answered all my questions in great detail during the lesson. You can tell that she knows her stuff. I liked this lesson so much that I have reviewed many more games with her in the following lessons. We have also used the time to discuss good and bad pieces and how to handle various openings and middlegame plans that my opponents throw at me. She always provides a pgn file of my games with her analysis and comments added in so I can review them later.
In short: a great coach at a great price!
Tijana is an excellent and very dedicated chesscoach. She gives the lessons in a very clear and enthousiastic way. The lessons are personal lessons , she takes a lot of preparations and thorough preparations and analyzes your chessgames before she starts her lesson. This way Tijana knows exactly your level of chess and which part of your game needs improvement. Every lesson has a specific topic and is fully focussed on your personal skills. This way your skills of playing chess are improving very rapidly. She is open minded and always with a very positive attitude which is very important too . That way it is a joy to have lessons from Tijana and to learn chess better and to improve your chessgame. After the lesson she sends you all the material of the given lesson, so you can look back at the material. If you want to improve your personal chess skills and want to improve fast, she is absolutely the best chess coach you can get. No doubt about that !
As a 1564 Lichess Rapid "Adult Improver" over the last 3 months I am improving by around 20 rating points a month with Tijana. I work full time do really appreciate :
* Her work rate in lesson prep & focus on personal weaknesses is incredible. Each lesson is focused on developing a specific skill. Tijana identified from my games that that my middle game planning was poor and we have specific lessons that have improved that.
* She built me a new repertoire for me Black and White. The openings I now play are solid, suit my approach, are simple to follow and are winning!
She leverages technology to make my learning very efficient. She introduced me to Chessbase and that has made the lesson, homework, game analysis, and opening prep so easy.
Amazing progress every week. Her approach makes it efficient and enjoyable. I have hired many coaches (Piano, Karate, Workouts, in Sales) for me and my children. She is the best coach I have ever worked with.
Just one tip - make sure you pay your coach for their lesson prep time as well as the lesson. Good luck on your Chess journey.

I’ve been taking lessons for just over 2 weeks now and I can assure you that she enjoys what she does, and her lessons are both structured and to the point.
She’s quite a happy teaching which makes the lessons all the better too.
I'd definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a good teacher. 5/5
