International Master Renier Castellanos from Spain, chess coach and active chessplayer. Started playing chess at the age of 7 and to this day I continue. I like traveling, photographs, sports .

Played in two Olympiads in the Chilean team, Calvia 2004, and Torino 2006. I have two GM norms. I usually play in Europe in every possible Open event. Spain, Italy, and France.

Over 10 years of coaching experience, my training plan is especially focused on improving your openings and the middle game motifs that normally emerge from them. It gives results in short term. Moreover, I provide deep analysis of your own games. I believe that one of the keys to improve your play is recognizing your own mistakes and your tendency to repeat them in certain positions. My students also benefit from my own new chess experience, keeping therefore up to date with theory and fresh analysis all the time.

My methods may vary depending on my student's strength. Mostly I go over everything that has worked for me in the past and has helped me to play better and overcome difficulties. Opening advice, middle game knowledge, classic games on most know etc. I present a concept and then work with different types of positions. Not only from published works from famous players and trainers but also plenty of original positions from my own games and research. Students are welcome to send me positions to analyze as well.
