Teaching experience

I began teaching chess at the National Association of the Blind (NAB) in 2018. Thereafter, I have been teaching/coaching personal students. I am very passionate about the game as I am about coaching enthusiastic students develop a better understanding about the nuances and intricacies of the game.

I specialise in playing training games followed by analysis of games as well as analysing games of the students to understand their strengths and weaknesses and make a study plan for improvement accordingly.

I also try to show a different range of positions to understand my students' thinking process properly and to make a individualised study plan thereafter. I am open to coaching offline as well as online and am tech-savvy.

I have coached multiple Indian National Age-group champions in both the Open and Women's Section.

Other experiences

I have been actively involved in helping and mentoring other students from Delhi since 2018. I have mentored many of them and their success often feels like my own to me.

I was also chosen as the Sports Vice Captain of our School for the session 2017-2018.
Additionally, I have commentated on most games of the Olympiad 2024 (on the Chessbase India Hindi Channel) as well as some games of the Online Olympiad 2020 (on the Chessbase India Hindi Channel).
I have also been fortunate to have many articles and interviews about me published on the Chessbase India Channel. Here is a link to those:

Best skills

I train students with ELO 1900 or above. My methodology is through practical play. I play training games in different time controls, followed by analysing them. Before taking on a student, I usually analyse the last 4-5 tournaments the student has already played in and try to make conclusions and gather data about the student.

I recommend books to work on, analyse games and pause at the critical moments asking the students how he/she will proceed and try to make the student take ownership of his/her decision-making.

Following are the highlights of my teaching Methodology:

I create personalised study plans based on each student's needs.

I play positions with my students and analyse them

I regularly talk to my students to uncover their thought process and consequently fine-tune their thinking process.

I teach my students to respect the game of chess, have a good attitude, for example, place the pieces on the board after the game properly, discuss the games with the opponent (no matter what the result) and to have a good attitude.

I teach my students to develop proper mental fortitude, be mentally strong and fight until the very last practical chance in all their games.

I converse with them, give them support and psychological strength if they feel anxious before the games and try to guide them to the best of my abilities. I feel deeply concerned and connected with my students and really want them to improve.

I pick games by strong players, analyse them on my own and then show it to my student's asking them to guess the moves. I also note down how much time the student's took in order to fine-tune their time management skills later.

I actively participate in the coaching process and am not a passive observer.

I believe in the holistic development of my students.

Teaching methodology

I try to actively prepare for the lectures choosing training positions, exercises, studying games, inputting move timestamps and by making conclusions once we have finished discussing.

I try to make my students feel the intricacies in the game, help them make more informed choices and give them strength, moral support and confidence which are essential elements to do well in this sport.

I also give them tips on how to approach the game, different modes of working and thinking on the game and try to make study plans based on the student's individual needs and requirements.

I follow-up with students regularly and decide when to have the next class at least 1 day prior to the scheduled lesson. I am flexible with my time and am tech-savvy as well.
