Teaching experience

#1:
"Hands down the best chess instructor - and this comes from a mom and 8-yr daughter who took lessons with Ranveer. He is very engaging and his lessons are well-planned out. His methods are best suited to people who are serious about improving and willing to put in the effort. He not only taught us great chess, but also taught us how to think in playing chess. Instead of giving us the correct answer right away, he would give us enough time to think of the right chess moves - which really helped us in developing analytical skills and building confidence in tackling challenging problems."

We did lessons with Ranveer once a week, and both my daughter and I happily looked forward to our lessons each week. I would highly recommend Ranveer to anyone who wants to learn "proper" chess!" - Ms. Rahima Housaini (Houston, USA)

#2:
“I started playing chess again at 33. Between a full-time job and two small kids, I don’t have much time to study. I reached out to Ranveer. It was a turning point. He gave me a clear plan to study, helped me build a simple but effective opening repertoire, and shared practical advice tailored to my games. And the results followed. In April, I won my first club tournament with a 6.5/7 score (despite being the only unrated player).
Ranveer helped me reflect on my decision-making process — something I’ve started applying not just in chess, but also in my job in finance, and even in how I raise my kids.” - Gianluca Conzon (Trieste, Italy)

Gianluca even went on to win his first FIDE rating tournament (4th Open Isola del Sole), wth a perfect 7/7 score🏆

"Working with Ranveer has been a game-changer for my chess journey. His teaching style is clear, strategic, and incredibly motivating. Every session brings new insights—not just into tactics and openings, but into how to think like a true chess player. Ranveer doesn’t just teach moves; he teaches mindset. I’ve seen real progress in my game thanks to his guidance, and I genuinely look forward to each lesson. If you’re serious about improving your chess, I can’t recommend Ranveer highly enough." - Michael Heretakis (New York, USA)

As a coach, I have:

- Led my University Chess Team to win 3 gold medals for 3 consecutive years, mentoring juniors, helping them prepare, share game plans, while playing alongside for the team.
- Helped students win age-group National Championships
- Prepare for international tournaments like World Youth

Other experiences

I've been working at ChessMood since 2021. They've been a massive influence, and I'm immensely grateful to be able to learn from them.

ChessMood is currently the best chess improvement website out there, one which I wish was there when I was growing up (personal opinion). Their courses, articles have helped many of my students. You should definitely check it out. Here's the link:

Best skills

I'm well-rounded in teaching most areas of the game. My best skills in chess coaching are:

1. Teaching middlegame, tactics, etc.
2. Attack, Defense and other general chess topics
3. Endgames

Teaching methodology

My philosophy is based on 2 things - helping students improve while they also have fun, and helping them become better human beings. So during the lessons, I'll teach them chess, work on their mindset while also sharing lessons they can use in their life and future.

As for chess, I first try to understand the strengths and areas of improvement of a player's game. Then based on that, I create a lesson plan with targeted exercises to help one get better.

And if you're a complete beginner, with no knowledge of the game, I can teach you the rules first and then go about improving the game. We'll follow a structured plan there as well.

No matter what, every lesson you have with me will have a clear learning objective. After the lesson ends, you'll walk away with actionable takeaways.
No lesson is spontaneous, without a clear plan, without takeaways. Because when that happens, my mind doesn't let me sleep well at night :)

Message me to get started.
