Teaching experience

Since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, I have been coaching chess to students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels, and different age groups. I have experience working with players ranging from absolute beginners to those rated up to 1800 FIDE. Many of my students have achieved remarkable progress, gaining over 200 rating points after training with me. Since moving to Canada, I have also been teaching with the Chess & Math Association, further enriching my coaching experience and helping students unlock their full potential in chess.

Best skills

I am a well-educated chess player and during my playing career I worked with many highly qualified coaches including Grandmasters and International Masters. Therefore, I have a solid foundation and knowledge in all areas of chess. Personally, my biggest strength as a chess player is my tactical vision and my calculation skills. I also have access to many chess resources such as the latest books, DVDs, and databases in all areas of chess.

Teaching methodology

My lessons are personalized and carefully tailored to the unique needs of each individual I work with. I begin by analyzing my student’s games to understand their playing style, identify their strengths, weaknesses, and common mistakes. Based on this analysis, I create a customized improvement plan designed to help them progress effectively. After each session, I assign homework and encourage students to play training games, allowing me to monitor their progress more effectively by analyzing their performance over time.
I am flexible with platforms and can conduct lessons via Zoom, Skype, or Google Meet, depending on my student’s preference. Additionally, I am available to answer their questions between lessons and provide support, including preparation for specific tournaments, ensuring they are always well-equipped to achieve their goals.
