About me
My name is Steve Demmery and I am a National Master with the CFC (Canadian Chess Federation). I am 48 years old and currently living in London Ontario Canada. I started playing tournament Chess in 1993 and earned my title in 2003. I have made a career from Chess and enjoy teaching those of all ages.
Playing experience
I have played over 500 Over the Board Chess Tournaments both Classical and rapid time formats. My best wins include defeating many FIDE Masters and have also drawn many IM Players. I won the London Standard Chess Championship 4 times, London Active Championship 10 times, and London Speed Championship 6 times. I also won the Brantford Open in 1998, placed 3rd in the Ontario Closed 2010, and tied for 2nd in the Canadian Amateur Championship in 2009.
Teaching experience
I have taught in both Elementary and High Schools as well as privately for 23 years. I have had the opportunity to train many young players who have reached expert and master level ratings. I have also coached the Canadian Military Chess Team.
Other experiences
I was President of the London Chess Club on and off for 15 years. I have organized and Arbitered many Chess Tournaments.

Teaching methodology
1. I will meet with the student and identify their biggest weaknesses.
2. I will provide material on subjects that need improving and provide homework to be completed.
3. I will have practice games with students and analyze games which have been played.
4. I will work on any other area of the game that the student wishes.
