A frequent and dangerous mistake made in the Scotch Game

ChessOpeningTactics
Dear friends of the royal game, I am very sure most of you know the Scotch Game, in particular those who like playing 1. e4. This opening is marked by the moves 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nf6 3. d4... I love playing it with white!

My opponents often don't react in an adequate manner on my mawn pushing forward to d4 and attacking again the black pawn on e5! The move d4 is a menace to be taken seriously. Most of the time, they continue with 3. ...exd4, but after 4. Nxd4 Nxd4 5. Qxd4, white has obtained an extremely strong centre!

Therefore, I explain how to react to this opening in the attached study. I am neither a chess expert neither a master of this opening. But I would like to share my experiences with you, hoping that they will be useful for you.

Those who speak/learn German and would like to learn more about the Scotch Game, please don't hesitate to watch the video called "Schacheröffnungen | Die schottische Partie" shot by International Master Georgios Souleidis. Highly-appreciated in Germany, he plays and teaches chess and produces content on YouTube.

However, I am pretty sure that the Net also provides you with good English videos. Have fun on lichess, see you!
