Chess-in-the-Schools Central Park Rapid 2024
Gotta beat 'em while they're young.Another fun time at the annual Chess-in-the-Schools Chess in the Park Rapid Open at beautiful Bethesda Fountain in Central Park. I again played the "Reserve" section (900 - 1299 USCF) finishing 3.5 / 6. I'm pretty satisfied with these results - these scholastic players are tough!
Yury Lapshun, International Master and author of "Play 1 b4! Shock Your Opponents With The Sokolsky" shows absolutely no mercy against youth players throughout the day.
The Fountain is a top choice for couples taking their wedding photos - I captured just two of the many that were there during the tournament.
