Welcome to chapter 2 of our blog series! It's time to focus and dive into key strategies for your atomic games. Here I present a series of fundamental tips that will raise your level of play in this exciting variant.

  1. Choosing the right moment is crucial.
Although it may seem trivial, playing atomic variant games at 10 p.m. It may not be the best option. First, your well-being is paramount; Getting adequate rest is key to health. Secondly, at that time concentration can be affected, which can significantly reduce your gaming performance.
  2. Select a suitable environment
Trying to play Atomic variant games in noisy spaces or during conversations can be unfavorable. The resulting distraction can lead you to lose the game and subsequently express frustration to those around you, creating a tense and unconducive environment for the game.
  3. Choose the duration of your games wisely.
It is not advisable to start with games lasting half a minute and without any second of increment. Normally, few players accept this type of games, and if someone does, it may be for two reasons: lack of experience in timing or an advanced level of experience and play in quick games. I suggest instead considering games like 5+3, which offer an appropriate balance between time and quality of play.

  4. Decide between playing in friendly or points mode.
If you are looking to practice and improve your skills, friendly mode is ideal. On the other hand, if you aspire to compete and increase your elo, the points modality is the best for you. These movements (along with those at the end) are the most crucial. Experienced players often use the first 5 moves to set traps for their opponents. Stay alert and careful when planning your initial movements to avoid possible ambushes.
  6. It is crucial to choose a tournament that aligns with your skills and preferences.
We suggest you carefully review tips one, two and three to find the most suitable tournament for you and maximize your experience. It is also advisable to evaluate your current level and look for tournaments that fit your abilities. A tournament that is too challenging may feel overwhelming, while one that is too easy may not be stimulating enough.
