ONLINE CHESS : A WASTE OF TIME?

Chess
A thought that came to my mind.

Hello Friends,
A topic that sometimes bothers me a lot is that , while playing chess online actually am I wasting my time.
Yes, there are many reasons why we shouldn't do so .
I'm actually not trying to prove or argue the fact that playing chess online is not good or it's a bad hobby .
But playing online or using online chess has many good facts as well as many negative facts.

1. It helps us to host tournaments where a large number of participants can join in an arena.
2. It helps to save time .
3. It doesn't require physical movings and arbitrer to monitor the game.
and so and so............

But we need to answer to the point that is this a waste of time.?
Yeah when we look it from one point of view it is a waste of time . Online chess was frequently used while the world was suffering a lot due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Chess players saw this as a medium to connect to each other and stay in contact and analyze and improve their games.
But for a normal player , who just began his career playing online it isn't good .
Actually online chess is 2D , but when it comes to real life chess it's 3D and I have seen many opponents who are rated 2000 + in variants and 1900+ in regular chess just gets crushed up in a chess tournament.
It's actually addictive as well . Playing hyperbullet as well as Ultrabullet per day upto 100 games and seeing a sudden increase in your elo may increase the tendency to play more fast games .
Playing like 250 bullet games means 250 x 1/2 = 125 minutes . (HYPER)
We almost wasted 2 hours.
Playing online and gaining elo won't bother your opponent in an offline chess tournament as it won't increase your rating online nor his.
Players often fails to understand deep chess positions and loses easily in a chess tournament.
The best way to increase your rating as a beginner is :
1. Use chess books , solve puzzles , and answer the questions descriptively.
2. Practice many offline chess tournaments with your friends or with anyone who know how to play.
3.Analyze positions with a person who won many chess tournaments.
4. Play with players of your level and slowly learn the game.

CONCLUSION: Playing chess a long time and getting just a few elo won't determine how you play . It is determined by the way you play in the real world and not in the virtual world .
