KING OF THE HILL

Chess
Variants blog : Part 2

Hello Friends,
We all are familiar with king of the hill chess variant . This is a good chess variant similar to that of standard chess, and all the position adhere to the FIDE rules.
The game can be won by putting the king into the squares of e4,e5,d4,d5 or by checkmating your opponent.
The main concept behind king of the hill is that it test how well you can capture the center of the board to prevent your opponent from entering into your territory.
So I'm here with a KOTH chess game , so all of you can study and improve your rating.

1. e4 , Nf6 . Black tries to capture the e4 pawn and break the center . Nc3 gives a support to the pawn in e4.
e5 opens up e6 and e7 so the king can come out. f3 again gives a double support to the pawn.
Ke7 tries to bring the king closer to the hill .
Now bc4 captures the d5 and f6 squares. The king moves to e6 ,still can't even enter the hill.
Nge2 , cuz white realizes that his d4 square was undefended.
Nc6 attacking the d4 square and prevent Kd4.
d3 , builds up a strong formation of pieces in the center. Kc5 was not a move cuz the king can't enter the hill it's all occupied by white.
be3 gives a check and makes the king go away.
b3 gives and extra support to the bishop in c4.

Here is the GAME CHANGER.......
White initially developed his pieces well and good , due to the blank d4 square the move Nd4 happened and White took the Knight (Blunder) cuz this was played intentionally to destroy the whole central structure and to clear the e5 square.
As black takes the bishop then the Knight takes back . Now the e5 square is free and Black moved the king into the Hill .

Conclusion: In King of the hill aim for the squares d4,d5,e4,e5. No matter how many pieces you lose your aim is to move the king to one of these squares.
The second way is to give checks and checks and move the king to the corner of side of the board and checkmate cuz most of the opponents bring their king out.
Never have the tendency to castle and keep your king on the side of the board (except high rated players)
because if your opponent is stronger he will just win it .
