BISHOP PAIR AND LIFE LESSONS

A chess student went to his coach,
Taking an assertive approach,
Asked a question with curiosity
"What are these Talent, Hard work?
I am also confused between Hard work and Smart work,
They seem a bit contradictory,
And none of my own reasoning seems satisfactory!"

The coach could not be more happier,
He knew how to make the answer seem easier,
He had been teaching about Bishop pair for a week,
There was an answer that would be unique.

With an affectionate hand on the shoulder,
The coach said talent and work, hard work and smart work,
Resemble a Bishop pair,
They seem contradictory and unrelated,
But when they are coordinated,
An advantage can be gained if churned with technique,
Which is what a strong player is eager to seek!
Games where this pair has worked in tandem,
Has caused significant mayhem!

The youngster soon played a tournament.
At a critical junction after a long thought,
He sacrificed a pawn for the Bishop pair.
As he came out after the game, the coach felt something was right,
The Youngster had a smile which was uncontrollably bright!
