Ohio High School Middle School Championship Sections

Ohio Online High School Middle School Championship

Eligibility: Championship Sections are open to students in the designated grades levels or home school equivalent; who are Ohio residents or enrolled in an Ohio school. Free USCF membership provided for new or expired members.
Format: 5 Round Swiss; USCF Online Standard Rated, does not affect OTB ratings.
Sections: 9-12 High School Championship, 6-8 Middle School Championship.
For determining sections, the higher of a player’s USCF Over the Board (OTB) Regular rating and their USCF Online Regular rating will be used.
Time Limit: High School & Middle School Championship Sections: G/40 + 10.

Rounds: High School & Middle School Championship Sections: 11:00-1:00-3:00-5:00-7:00.

Awards: Trophies mailed home to all players scoring 3.5 or higher, and top 2 teams (schools) in each section, based on adding the best 4 individual scores.
Registration: At progresswithchess.org/hsms until 6am EST, April 17th.
Fair Play: All games reviewed. Players in the 9-12 High School Championship and 6-8
Middle School Championship Sections must be on Zoom with side angle camera. Players using chess engine assistance will be flagged by lichess and reported to the USCF Ethics Committee.
