D'First 2021 JHS Chess

PLATFORM: As mentioned, we will be using lichess.org/app. Each participant has to make an account in the said platform and the username needs to be submitted for the pointing system.

MATCHING: For every house, the pairs will be given the identifications B and G. This is so that no contestants from the same house will be matched since the lichess tournament matching is randomly chosen.

TOURNAMENTS: Later, I will be asking you to join a Team in lichess.org (not available in the app). Once accepted, you will see 2 Tournaments there and you are to join the tournament with your respective ID. To join, you have to put in the following passwords:

These are scheduled to start at exactly 12:35 pm on October 28, 2021 which is tomorrow. So please make sure to join the team and the tournament before that.

GAME SETTINGS: Each tournament has 3 rounds, 15 mins. clock initial time, and 5-min. round intervals in Standard variation. Since the time given is short, please maximize it and try to focus on the game for us to have a smooth flow for 3 rounds.

MONITORING: Spectating is possible in the tournaments so we will be watching your matches live.

LIVE MEET: This part is TO BE ANNOUNCED as we are waiting for details from the Admins.

SCORING: We will be utilizing the pointing system indicated in the lichess tournament.

AWARDS: For the individual awards, there will be the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. For the pair awards, the points gained by the pairs from each house will be added and ranked for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.
