Pieces are less throwable

In 1-minute games, I used to be able to throw pieces to their target squares or to the end-of-line square quite successfully but now it doesn't work most of the time. My success rate dropped from 80% to 10%. Even simply grabbing and moving pieces doesn't work sometimes if you do it too quickly. If you have changed a setting somewhere, can you change it back?
I'm trying to get what you mean by 'throw' pieces. You mean you could let them go before the destination square and the piece would keep moving across squares after you let it go?
I've become bad at ultrabullet too but I don't know if it's because of this.
@President_DonaldDuck,

Here is a video to demonstrate the throw: streamable.com/op63m

It still works but it's more difficult and glitchy. Let me try to describe each step in slow motion: Let's say I want to throw a rook a few squares up. I left click to the rook and make a throwing motion with a mouse and as soon as the rook starts moving, I let go of the left click but continue the throw motion towards the target square and the piece just lands on the target square.

This still works but the pieces seem to stick to the starting square more forcefully. Instead of throwing the piece, now sometimes the piece moves slightly but then falls back to the starting square. It's like there is a distance the piece needs to cross in order to be throwable and they increased that distance.
Maybe your screen resolution has not changed, but the site is now full screen. So the chessboard is no longer the same size. So it would seem the pieces would travel longer, maybe a few pixels longer on a square.
Try this:
Make a smaller browser window. So that the chessboard is much smaller and you can then see if your through of the pieces are back to normal. If it is, you might want to change your mouse sensitivity settings or something to speed up the through of the pieces from one side of the chessboard to the other.

Got to lichess.org/account/preferences/game-display
Piece animation set it to None.

Not sure what this does: Piece destinations (valid moves and premoves)
On or off I did not see the difference.

@Mattteo

I use MX Linux and there is a place to adjust the mouse.
Mouse & Touch pad
Behavior: Drag / drop
Threshold: o - 8px
The number of pixels that the pointer must travel before a move operation begins.

I think this is what you are looking for to get your piece throughing style back in sync with Lichess V2.

I have experimented with every option I can think of and the only thing that helped was to increase the board size. Somehow making the board smaller makes the pieces stick more to the square they are in. Now, I play with an oversized board because the pieces feel less sticky.
Throwing... Sticky....i have no idea what you're talking about. You just drag and drop, or select source and destination square. There's no friction or inertia. The Asteroids forum is down the corridor.
Mouse adjustments (Try it... and if yours works better at different numbers post it.)
Acceleration: 2.0
Sensitivity: 4px
Slider: 1px
Double Click: 304 ms
Travel Distance: 8px
Size of cursor: DMZ (White) Size 24

Image resolution: 1680x1050 60hz (20inch Acer)

Try different driver mouse names. Like some printers work better with different parameters, so do mice.

Note you cannot physically through a piece on a virtual image. It's all in your mouse settings or your image resolution.
Perhaps if your mouse deviates from the file it snaps back to the start location, a bit like when you use a mouse to grab the scroller on the Windows window. If you drag up and down the window scrolls, but if your mouse deviates too far left or right the window snaps back to the start location.

This may be why increasing the board size helps as the files are wider.
